Why is my friend like this?

he smokes marijuana,and his short term memory is affected at times(can't remeber yesterday was a holiday etc..)but he is a virtual encyclopedia of facts and knowledge.Is he just naturally smart?

If you do not realize but medical marijuana is great for add/adhd!! It is way better then the speed the doctors put people who have this on!

Some smart people have a horrible time shutting off there brain. Running around thinking all the time. It is nice to take something that just calms ones butt down.You should ask him if he is legal, if he is not why not?

BTW I have ADHD and medical marijuana let me sleep, thank god cause nothing else does!

While the pot does effect his brain - he is also only concerning himself with what is important to him. It is said that Einstein did not remember his phone number because he could not be bothered memorizing something that could be looked up.

Your friend sounds like he is ADD. ADD do forget things that is short term memory. They remember every thing that they read. ADD are very smart people. But it is sad, how many do start smoking pot. It slows down their thought process.
